Today the weather has been absolutely amazing and on our little alpaca farm here in Wiltshire, we have been making the most of every last minute of it.

I took a few minutes this afternoon to wander round with my camera taking snaps of all the activity happening around the place.

Before any of you comment, yes it was a good excuse for a skive, I was hot, but I’m not complaining sunshine honest! 🙂

Wow! I know elite alpaca fleeces look good, but they look even better when the skirting fairy has been through them.

After reading about the skirting fairy on a fellow blogger’s, blog, I was so jealous as my own skirting technique is absolutely horrendous.

It’s quite sole destroying having a beautiful fleece in front of you only to find after hours of hard work, your left with a pile of bits.

So I knew I’d have to find her and somehow entice her ...

The alpacas, dare I say it? are enjoying the summer now it has finally arrived, I’m certainly keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it stays that way for a while 🙂

The forecast say’s it going to be good here for at least the next two weeks, but I’m not holding my breath, every time I check it’s changed and normally for the worsts, so I’m not looking any more.

The trenching for the new alpaca enclosures are coming along nicely and will hopefully be finished later today.

Well it had better be finished because the fencer is coming tomorrow morning at 8am sharp to start ramming in all the post.

Do you detect the note of doubt creeping in? There is, probably because I have bodge it and scarper, aka Neil and Charlie, out there now playing with the JCB.

Early this morning I took a leisurely stroll around the farm, in order to check that everything was tickety boo. Alpacas and horses were all fine and busy stuffing their faces as per usual.

It’s got to be the best part of the day, with the sun rising, the birds beginning their morning chorus, beautiful, so peaceful and then Ronnie my cockerel has to go and shriek let me out. That bird definitely needs some singing lessons:)

It’s all go down here on our alpaca farm in Wiltshire, while the sun is shinning we are taking every opportunity to get our bigger jobs of our never ending list done.

Starting with the most important which is how our farm, acreage wise, is divided between our four horse’s and our expanding alpaca herd.

Up untill now it has been about an even split, but this is not working out very well especially for the horses.

There’s just far too much grass, ...

It’s been a bit of a hectic weekend here on our alpaca farm, not due to the alpacas I hasten to add, no dramas on that front, but due to my youngest child Lauren coming of age.

I suddenly feel so old, it only seems like yesterday when my children were little ankle biters as my husband liked to call them and now they are all grown.

All grown but showing no inclination of leaving home, where am I going wrong? 🙁

Today was a very auspicious occasion for one little male alpaca, today was the day I had decided he was to become a man.
That is all well and good I hear you say but had I checked with the said male, Honeyfield Angelo, to see if he was ready, willing and able.

No of course I hadn’t, Superior genetics and all that, of course he’d be willing, ready and able, he’s my boy 🙂

Was I heading for a fall, probably ...

It’s all change in the alpaca paddocks, half the fields are now clear of the dreaded buttercup and were ready today for the alpacas to graze. Moving them all into these paddocks leaves us now free to spray off the paddocks they’ve just vacated, weather permitting of course.

As Swap shop was the order of the day, I thought it was the ideal opportunity to jiggle around the girls in the birthing paddock. Six more females are due to enter their ...

I just thought I’d better reiterate that this is an alpaca farm 🙂

I’d assumed most of you had already guessed this by now as my blogs are full of waffle about one alpaca or another and of course the numerous alpaca pictures I post should have helped confirm this.

But maybe this is not the case as over the weekend we had a visitor arrive at the farm.
