Naked Alpacas

I gradually getting used to seeing my alpacas naked, although I think I’m going to need at least a few more days before I can start being able to tell who’s who.

You’d think their ear tag numbers would help, but you get so used to how each and every alpaca looks, and believe me even with a predominately white herd they are all so very different, that I’ve never needed to rely on their tags to tell them apart.

That’s alpaca shearing completed for another year Yippee! Yesterday was positively perfect, weather wise, in fact the whole day was perfect and totally stress free from start to finish. Thank you Ian you did a brilliant job it was a real pleasure working with you and all the alpacas look great even Dora, I’m just totally shattered πŸ™‚

Persuasive Little Alpaca

I must say I’m feeling like a very lucky alpaca breeder, although it’s pretty scary saying it out loud, please weather forecast don’t change. I don’t think I could I have picked a better week for shearing? Wall to wall sunshine yippee!

Tomorrow is D-day and for my pregnant girls it will be a huge relief, the last few days they have been really struggling with the heat.

Alpaca Curcuit Training

What a beautiful weekend, the weather has been absolutely glorious so much so that even though we had a huge list of jobs that needed doing, we found ourselves spending more and more time just sitting watching our latest alpaca arrivals Wilson and Teddy.

An Alpaca Surprise

Those alpacas sure like giving you a surprise and very surprised I was early on Thursday morning.

The day began as usual, wet πŸ™ and so the evening before I’d popped my very heavily pregnant females along with Dora and little Wilson in the barn for the night.

Actually truth be known Dora insisted on being in the barn, definitely no surprises there πŸ™‚
