I must say I’m feeling like a very lucky alpaca breeder, although it’s pretty scary saying it out loud, please weather forecast don’t change. I don’t think I could I have picked a better week for shearing? Wall to wall sunshine yippee!
Tomorrow is D-day and for my pregnant girls it will be a huge relief, the last few days they have been really struggling with the heat.
Even Dora and Blue who have given birth are struggling, mind they have cria nagging at them constantly for milk.
This morning I caught Teddy in action, nagging his mum, six days old and already he’s not taking no for an answer.
He kept on and on and on, these were only a few of the photo’s I took just to give you a taster of how persistent he was, eventually she gave in and got up for him 🙂
That’s the trouble with having a big baby Blue, there’s an awful lot of baby to feed and it looks like he has his technique refined to an art. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a six day old cria quite so determined to feed, that they would resort to rocking there mother up on to her feet.
I loved the kiss at the end at least he has some manners, perhaps if he’d started with a kiss she might have been a bit more willing 🙂
