Well it’s the 30th today and are we going to have an alpaca birth? Will the computer be right? So far Dora shows no signs of obliging, but the day is not done yet. Watch this space!

Neil is in the good books, and has earn’t him self lots of brownie points as he’s finally started the fronts of my stud pens.

That’s the weekend nearly sorted, jobs all done, Ha! Ha! not really, the job list is still to long for my liking and we definitely won’t ask Neil his feelings about the to do list, the air could get quite blue 🙂

Unfortunately our farm visit today had to be postphoned untill next week, which was a shame, but never mind the weather looks better next week and it’s much nicer spending time out with the alpacas on a nice warm ...

I’m so mean, but it was funny, although if I hadn’t hidden in the cabin I know I would have given in. Why?

Well last night as it was so warm and the grass has started to come through at last. I decided it was time for the alpacas to spend there first night of the year outside.

If it hadn’t been for the lack of grass they would have been out weeks ago and to be truthful most of the time ...

The alpaca birthing period is upon us, Ruby has entered her delivery dates, the watching and waiting game begins 🙂

Our birthing season on paper stretches right through until mid September, but that means nothing as Alpacas, as I’ve mentioned before can’t read and will have their young only when they are good and ready.

Luckily, well I hope it was luckily and the better weather holds, we have been fortunate that our cria are a bit later arriving this year.

I’m really sorry, but there will be no blog today. We’ve received some very sad news, a dear friend’s mum has passed away and I can’t find it in me to write a happy blog, so I think it’s best that I write nothing at all.

Well there’s wind and there’s wind! and at the moment all though it’s been warm and dry the washing line is definitely out of action.

There’s not a hope in hell of my puny pegs holding my smalls on the line in this weather. Out of consideration for the village, who would undoubtedly be on the receiving end of my smalls blowing around on the wind I’ve been forced, honest Neil 🙂 to bring the tumble dryer back into work.

Yesterday on Rob’s @ Wellground’s Blog, some very sad news was published, John had lost his fight with cancer.

We were lucky enough to have met John and Lillian on a couple of occasions over the last few years and know from that, how much John will be sorely missed.

The first swallow has arrived, are they late this year, or does it just feel that way? They didn’t look to impressed to find the horses still using their stables and on that point I’d have to agree. I can’t remember ever stabling the horses this far into April, hopefully that situation can be rectified in the next few days.

Charlie has finally woken up and been in communication with the other students on his degree and it seems he wasn’t ...

What’s going on? Having just checked the weather forecast yet again, tomorrow at midday the temp is set to be 8 degree’s and at midnight it will be 11 degree’s. What’s that all about? Do we all need to turn nocturnal?
