Three Wheels on our Wagon

Posted By On Jan 2013 | 0 Comments

We are very lucky in our area to have one of the best haylage producers around and yesterday afternoon we paid them a visit.

Its been a while since we’ve seen Oliver and so we had a good catch up on all his news and then got down to the serious business of discussing haylage and what would be the best to feed to our alpacas.

You would think haylage was haylage but we found out yesterday that was not so and ...

The Screamers

Posted By On Apr 2013 | 2 Comments

That’s Easter over with can we have our heat wave now please! 🙂  Mind after all those Easter eggs will I be able to fit into my shorts, I doubt it.

We’ve had a very busy four days here on the farm and I can’t remember what we did on any of the days specifically as they all passed in such a whirl wind of activity.

On top of all the usual chores, we managed to get five acres of paddocks chain ...

Animal Farm

Yesterday the snow had stopped falling and with the hayracks loaded up in the field shelters it was time to let the alpacas out to stretch their legs.

I’d remembered my camera for a change and was stood waiting as the weanling boys emerged from the barn.

Posted By On Apr 2013 | 0 Comments

Life is just too short not to share laughter!

Alpaca’s in the Snow

Posted By On Jan 2013 | 0 Comments

Snow Scene

This is a game just like Where’s Wally, only this is titled Where’s The Alpaca.  This could be a bit hard as except for a couple, all my alpaca’s are white.

Any luck yet?

Have you tried squinting sometimes I find that helps?

No, not helpful, I’ll shut up.

Perhaps my blog title should have been the Amazing Camouflage Potential of White Alpaca’s in the Snow?

I will have to be ...

Happy Easter

Posted By On Mar 2013 | 0 Comments

Happy Easter everyone, I hope your all having a good weekend!

I also hope everyone remembered to put their clocks forward an hour last night. British Summer time begins, well the extra hours of daylight says it summer time, unfortunately the heavy frost I woke up to this morning tells a different story, but at least it’s dry and we’ve had no more snow or rain here.

Earlier this week I had a conversation with my mom about Easter and told her ...

Pick & Mix

Today for a change, I had to many titles to choose from for my blog and so I will share a few with you and you can decide for your self what the title should have been.

Dinner Date, Young Love, Love is in the Air, Manipulative Females or maybe just How Sweet? The list could go on and I’m sure you could think of much better.

To make an informed decision I will have to describe what I witness today in ...

I’m a bit late writing my blog today, Neil being home on a Friday has thrown me a bit. I’m getting as bad as the alpacas, change my routine and and I don’t seem to know where I’m supposed to be 🙂

He’s home today as it’s good Friday, as I’m sure you are all aware and the lovely man has done all my farm chores for me, how sweet is that? much better than an Easter egg any day of ...

Work First, Play Later

Posted By On Jan 2013 | 0 Comments

I thought today that I ought to have a rummage, not through fleeces one of my favourite jobs, but through my previous blogs.  Why you ask?  Well there is a reason, being dyslexic has its advantages although having a poor short term memory I’ve forgotten what those advantages are :0))

It also has lots of disadvantages i.e. short term memory issues.  I have to say though that by the time you get to my age coping strategies are second nature and ...

What a Day

Posted By On Mar 2013 | 1 Comments

Oh what a day! It began as usual with my morning cup of coffee and a quick browse through my emails, no problems there.  A peak out of the window to check what the weather had in store for us today, no nasty snowy surprises waiting for us there, in fact although it was cold at least the sun was making its presence known for a change.

So coffee finished and ready to face the world, with the alpacas breakfast in ...
