Hello summer! what a gorgeous day today has been, for us humans anyway, not so good for heavy fleeced pregnant alpacas. I’ve not seen that much of the alpacas today as they’ve spent most of the day in and around their field shelters trying to find some shade. How much do you want to bet that once they are sheared and will enjoy the warm weather, the rain and nasty weather will come back 🙂
Neil’s lolly pop fence is now finished and he’s still busy out at his shed now making the new gates to match. I started painting the fence today but didn’t get very far as we’ve had lots of visitors and it was just so hot the paint was drying on the brush before I could get it on the fence.
That’s my excuse any way, I’ll have another shot at it tomorrow, only this time I’ll remember to apply some suntan lotion first. My poor nose is so red and burnt I’d give Rudolf the reindeer a run for his money 🙂
On Saturday we were invited to a barbecue to celebrate the return of Taff from Afghanistan. We had a wicked evening, it was really great to catch up with everyone, in fact the evening was so good that on Sunday both Neil and I needed a lazy day to recover, what are we like? Obviously getting far to old party until the wee hours of the morning, but it was a lot of fun 🙂 Welcome home Taff!!!
Neil and I were also treated to another barbecue today this time by our son, Charlie, who surprised us by going shopping to buy all the supplies and then cooking it all up for us at tea time and very nice it was too.
Little does he realise that now I know he can cook and do it rather well I think he should be doing it more often, don’t you agree? 🙂
