And Breathe :)

Posted By On Feb 2016 | 2 Comments

Quick update – I’ve just come up for air, as I’ve finished my number two project and about to commence number three, more on those when they are all finished.

I’ve been locked in my studio since the doors were first opened and the novelty of having my own space still hasn’t worn off, even when my ceramic radiator decided it had a fault and stopped working, replacement is on its way, wasn’t enough to send me scurrying back to the ...

Mad Alpaca Farmer is Dancing!!!!

Posted By On Jan 2016 | 0 Comments

Woop! Woop! I am one happy alpaca farmer today, I’m so happy I’m dancing ๐Ÿ™‚

Now I guess your wondering what could make me so happy, its the middle of January, we’ve yet another storm raging around us, mud up to our eyeballs, and the wind and rain is just relentless.

Well first of all the alpaca’s are tucked up nice and snug in the barn, and with the cctv camera’s now installed I can easily see that they are all ok, ...

The excitement for today

Posted By On Jan 2016 | 1 Comments

The excitement for the day was a very stupid foxย  who dared to run close alongside the outside of the Alpacas boundary fence. At first it caught the girls by surprise, but they soon realized they were running the wrong way, silly girls. so did a smart about turn chasing Mr Fox away. What made me laugh was The Sundowner, as ever an opportunist, trying to mount a female whilst her attention was elsewhere, naughty baby!!!

A quick glimpse of the sun

Posted By On Jan 2016 | 0 Comments

Firstly from all at Honeyfield Alpacas we would like to wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year. Maybe with the way the weathers been lately I should add dry in there somewhere ๐Ÿ™‚

My News Years resolution is to get back to writing my blogs, throughout 2015 I was decidedly slacking in this area, so slapped wrists for me ๐Ÿ™‚

2015 was just so busy & time flew so fast, as it’s does as we get older, maybe a ...

Show Success

Posted By On Sep 2015 | 0 Comments

It’s been a great weekend for Honeyfield Alpacas.

Firstly Honeyfield The Valiant aka Valdo as he’s more affectionately known, was entered into his first halter show in Scotland.

Valdo now coming into his fourth year, is a big strapping, working male who has spent his days at Flandernoss Alpacas busy making beautiful babies.

Due to his cracking temperament the need has never arisen to halter train him until now. Bless his little cotton socks within a week he was fully halter trained and ...

Penultimate

Yesterday saw the arrival of our penultimate cria, just one more to go and then we are done. Not much longer to wait I hope, especially seeing the size of our last pregnant female, she is just huge, the walk has turned into a definite waddle.

Lady Ruffo was the star of the show yesterday, her cria was the last due sired by Angelo, he now has a son and OMG what a little boy he is.

Lady Ruffo was the dam ...

How hot is this weather? I’m cooking but the alpacas are loving it, everywhere I look is an alpaca stretch out soaking in the sunshine. How they do it I don’t know, I’m hiding under the biggest umbrella and I’m still smoldering ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning early to beat the heat, Angelo had a second date with Truly. I’m glad we started early as forty minutes later he was still at it.

I was hoping the novelty had worn off and he was ...

Daddies Little Girls

Posted By On Aug 2014 | 0 Comments

Dora the matriarch of my alpaca herd, is in her element, I just hope sheโ€™s not going to take a leaf out of my book and start singing ๐Ÿ™‚

Why is she so happy? Because sheโ€™s getting to spend time in the barn because of this rubbish weather.

I have no idea why, but Dora just loves the barn, she would stay in there 24/7 if I let her. Her name should really have been Hector and we could have put a ...
